I am currently a university student at UEL studying Games Design and I have an unending love for design. But what does design mean to me?

The definition of design is: purpose or planning that exists behind an action, fact, or object. However, design, personally, means something much deeper than just that. Design is the unfathomable, idiosyncratic nature of creation. Design is endless, quivering with potential means and ideals, of heartfelt passions and memories relived.

For as long as I can remember, I've been writing, imagining and creating. I have a passion for including everyone I can, especially when it comes to community engagement. My goal in life is to demonstrate and articulate specific meanings. I want to realise experiences for people and create paths of empathy that didn't exist beforehand. I want to be able to rule in a new understanding to the player, in each of my games, so that they learn and grow as I did in the creation of the game.

I like for each time we design to emulate something relatable, yet new and exciting. Growing up with ASD, I have found it hard to find many things relatable - but coming into the community of games I have been given guidance and drive, acceptance and games that do make me feel *me*! A perfect example of games designers that achieved this for me was Anna Anthropy with her games.

A creative idol of mine is the famous Brenda Romero, whose 'The Message is in the Mechanic' series. This strongly inspired me to venture into the power of design and how it can affect and change people's ways of thinking.
Another creative idol is my partner, Sam Fisk. His vision of life and his unending support and happiness has driven me to a new level of ambition!
